- What do you do with the information I send?
Your information will be used solely for the purpose of evaluating the status of your application. We understand the sensitivity of information such as salary details, and we ensure the confidentiality of information by restricting the access of data to our evaluators only.
- Do you accept manual scholarship applications?
NO. In line with our stand of developing sustainable futures, we believe in streamlining our recruitment to be more efficient as well as environmentally friendly. As such, please refrain from submitting any form of hardcopy application as it will not be entertained.
- Do I need to mail my certificates in to Yayasan Sime Darby?
NO. In line with our stand of developing sustainable futures, we believe in streamlining our recruitment to be more efficient as well as environmentally friendly. As such, please refrain from submitting any form of hardcopy documentation as it will not be entertained.
- My son/ daughter is currently in college and is unable to access the Internet to submit the application. Can I apply on their behalf?
NO. The initial application must be done by the actual student as the first-time login will lead to a quiz page, which
MUST be answered by the student. Should we have strong grounds to believe that the quiz answers were written or submitted by someone other than the student, we will disqualify the application.
- I want to attach a letter of recommendation from my institution/ company/ agency. How should I proceed?
Letters of recommendation will not make a difference in the processing and evaluating of your application. In line with our stand of developing sustainable futures, please refrain from submitting any form of hardcopy documentation as it will not be entertained.
- I received an error message during my application. Why does it occur, and do I need to do anything?
Under certain conditions (slow or intermittent internet connection, peak usage hours), our website may return error messages. In the case of power outage during your application, you may have to refill and resubmit the online form.
If you encounter any error messages at any stage of the application, what you need to do is:
- Copy and paste the error message text and codes, and send it to the stated email address, OR
- Save the screen capture of the error message, and send it to the stated email address.
- I have filled the online form and clicked the “Submit” button, but the form will not go through. How do I solve this?
If this happens, you may have missed some compulsory sections in the online application form. You need to ensure that you fill all the compulsory fields marked with an asterisk (*), then to click on the “Submit” button.
Please note that for the salary section, if either parent are retired or deceased, you will still need to enter a zero so that the system recognises your input as a number.
- My personal details have changed after I have submitted my application. Can I update the changes in my online form?
YES, however you can only access your application account before the closing date of the scholarship recruitment. Please note that you cannot change the quiz answers, only the online form is editable.
- I want to edit my quiz answers. How do I do this?
You are NOT allowed to edit your quiz answers after you have submitted your online application.
- I took a long time to fill up the quiz section. Will this put me at a disadvantage?
We would advise you not to take more than half an hour to answer the quiz. The application is not considered complete unless you submit the quiz, and for sessions of more than one hour, you run the risk of having your internet connection timing out. If such instances occur, you will need to resubmit your application again.
- I missed the online application deadline. Can I submit my scholarship application manually?
NO. In line with our stand of developing sustainable futures, we believe in streamlining our recruitment to be more efficient as well as environmentally friendly. As such, please refrain from submitting any form of hardcopy application as it will not be entertained.
- I have submitted my application online. How do I know that you have received my online form?
After your application submission, you should be taken to a confirmation page, stating the conclusion of the application process. You will also need to check your email (the email address used in your application) for our acknowledgement email to confirm the receipt of your application.
- How do I know if I am shortlisted or not?
We will contact shortlisted candidates directly via phone or email. As such, please ensure that both your email address and phone number are typed in correctly, as our online system will generate automated emails or SMS in order to inform you of your status of application.
It is your responsibility to ensure that we are able to reach you.
- I haven’t received any updates on my status of application. What is happening?
We will update everyone on their status of application.
If you are shortlisted, you will receive further instructions from us on how to proceed, via email and phone.
If you are unsuccessful, you will receive an email updating you on the status of your application.
If you do not receive any communication, it is possible that:
- your email address was mistyped during your online application, or
- your online application was not received.
- What happens if I have not secured a place in any university, but I am shortlisted by Yayasan Sime Darby?
We are still able to process your application, however bear in mind that our scholarship offer is subject to you securing a place at a university, and it is imperative that you pursue the institution to secure an offer.
